Kolonie
At the tennis club on Sint-Bernardusstraat, you can start a blue loop of 3.1 km, a red loop of 5.1 km, and a black loop of 7.1 km. These routes take you through forests and heathlands, along sand pits and the canal, providing a lot of variety. A signposted connection route links you to various loops of the Sahara.
Sahara
From the Soeverein, you can start a green loop of 1.5 km, a fuchsia loop of 3.1 km, a purple loop of 6.1 km, and a black loop of 10.5 km. The large sand plain of the Lommel Sahara resembles a miniature desert. However, there are also clear blue lakes, heathlands, and fragrant pine and deciduous forests. The picturesque landscapes and variety provide a unique running experience.
Waaltjesbos
In this young domain forest of 205 hectares on the border with Mol and Balen, there are a blue loop of 5.1 km and a red loop of 10.4 km. The forest consists of young plantings of both coniferous and deciduous trees, as well as mixed forests. There are many summer and winter oaks. You can quietly enjoy the beautiful nature. A connection route links you to the running trails of the Sahara.
Kattenbos
You can discover Kattenbos via the red loop of 4.8 km or the black loop of 9.7 km. This natural gem has a rich history. You can enjoy both the heathland beauty and the crackling pine forests.
Bosland
The aforementioned nature areas are all part of Bosland, also known as the largest child-friendly nature area in Flanders. Thanks to the variety of forests, heaths, sand dunes, rivers, canals, and grasslands, Bosland is a biodiversity paradise.
