Green Stop Walks

In Lommel, you’ll find two Green Stop walks. These combine hiking and public transport. You travel by public transport to the start point of the walk, and at the endpoint, you return home using public transport as well. A sustainable way to discover our beautiful Lommel nature!

Green Stop Walk 'Lommel's Natural Gems'

This walk starts at the station and ends at the church in Lommel. Both are easily accessible by public transport. The walk takes you past Dorperheide Nature Reserve, the Lommel Sahara, the Blekerheide, and other natural gems of Lommel!

  • Starting point: Lommel Station
  • Endpoint: Lommel Church
  • Distance: 18.8 km (can be shortened to 6.2 or 14.6 km)

Green Stop Walk 'Through the Mills and Forests from Lommel to Pelt'

This walk starts at Lommel Station and ends at Neerpelt Station. Both are easily accessible by train or bus. You walk through the beautiful nature areas of Kattenbos and Grote Hof - Hobos, with a diverse landscape of fragrant pine forests, heathlands, fens, meadows, ponds, and marshes. Along the way, you’ll pass farms, mills, and the German War Cemetery. After your efforts, you can enjoy a refreshing local beer or a delicious meal in one of the cozy restaurants.

  • Starting point: Lommel Station
  • Endpoint: Neerpelt Station
  • Distance: 25 km (can be shortened to 5, 15, or 20 km)
