Hiking in the Blauwe Kei

Follow one of the signposted hiking loops between land dunes, hay fields, deciduous forests, heath, fens, shallow ponds and marshes in this border area between Lommel and Mol.

Explore the watery environment of the Blauwe Kei and its surrounding nature reserves De Maat-Den Diel via one of the signposted hiking loops. From Lommel you start at the parking lot of the Blauwe Kei. In Mol you start from the Ecocentre De Goren.

Starting point Blauwe Kei parking lot

Green: 4.9 km

Short walk between the beautiful canal and forest area. Ideal for stretching the legs after a visit to the catering facilities at Blauwe Kei.

Yellow: 8,8 km

This canal walk leads you through the beautiful nature reserve De Maat-Den Diel, where Scottish Highlanders and strong fjord horses keep the grass short.

Red: 11,1 km

A brisk walk with expansive drives and paths, perfect for fixing your gaze on the horizon, getting a breath of fresh air and letting go of your thoughts. Along the way you pass the "Stone of the Seven Delights" and the beautiful lock of Blauwe Kei.

Bird watching

This nature reserve is home to rare birds such as the kingfisher, horned tern and hawk! So binoculars and a camera are definitely a must here during autumn.
