Barrierspark

The one-acre Barrierspark at the bottom of bridge nine is a beautiful green park to unwind in while the children have fun in the adventure playground. The eye-catcher is the large fish pond in the park.

Barrierspark forms a green buffer between Barrier and the canal. The idyllic fish pond adjoins a beautiful park area with a playground. The park is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. The grassy mounds create a more intimate atmosphere in the park. And for little ones, there is a fun adventure playground!

Art in the Barrierspark

In the middle of the pond you can see the work "Easter Island on Vacation" by Sjer Jacobs. He has placed in a canoe three iron Easter Islanders in a row, stoically peering over the water surface.

Visual artist Sjer Jacobs (Tegelen, 1963) works with a wide variety of media, including ceramics, bronze, iron, ... All of his works are about people. Men and women, observed in their ordinary doings, while shopping, while meeting, drinking, making music and conversing. People who are close to us.
