What to expect
Your walk starts at the sandy parking area at the Kolken, where you immediately follow the Fossee, a softly meandering stream. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a beaver at work. From here, the route continues towards the Watering, a unique wetland area with reeds, water and wide-open views.
Via quiet paths, you walk through pine forest towards the lake of the Heuvelse Heide. Take a break on the sandy beach – perfect for a photo moment or a small picnic.
The route then leads you to Marina De Meerpaal, where a brasserie offers the chance for a snack or drink.
Along the Bocholt-Herentals Canal and a stretch of heathland, you return calmly to the starting point.
