What to expect
Let yourself be surprised by the peace and greenery of the Waaltjesbos. This walk leads you through young forests, open heathlands and quiet paths where nature is still evolving. The forest also tells a story: around 1800, Walloon workers settled here and helped shape the region. Today, it’s the perfect place to enjoy pure silence, the scent of the woods and the song of birds like the woodlark or – if you’re lucky – the nightjar.
